Edison Biotechnology Center, Inc., dba BioOhio, (herein referred to as “the organization,” “we,” or “us”) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1987, that advances the state’s bioscience, health, and life sciences industries, convening dynamic companies, people, and institutions to elevate the ecosystem in Ohio while supporting those that drive health, economic, and social well-being in communities across the globe.

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for and related BioOhio activities. This privacy notice applies to information collected by this website and related matters such as BioOhio membership, events, and programs. It will notify you of the following:

Part of BioOhio’s mission is to promote the bioscience industry in Ohio, and, as such, contains a large amount of information about companies and individuals in the industry and related fields. This information is presented in a variety of ways, including the Ohio Bioscience Resource Directory, The Ohio Bioscience Report, Industry News, Ohio Events, the BioOhio Member List, and more. Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected via this website. We only collect and have access to information that you voluntarily give us or make available to us via email or other direct contact from you.  When you use, navigate, and/or complete forms on the site, we may collect personally identifiable information that may include, without limitation, your first and last name, home address, email address, date of birth, age, country of residence, and account username and password (collectively, “Personal Information”).

How We Use Your Information

Your Personal Information and Usage Information are collectively referred to herein as “Your Information.”  We use Your Information for various general purposes to help enhance your experience.  These purposes include, but are not limited to:

Responding to Your Inquiries:  We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request or in the interest of promoting member-to-member communications, as part of the organization’s mission.

BioOhio’s Mailing List:  We may use Your Information to send you news related to our services via our mailing list.  You have the option to opt-out of being on our mailing list.

Direct Marketing:  We may use Your Information to send you promotional materials.  You have the option to opt-out of receiving direct marketing.

Business Optimization:  We may use Your Information in analyzing users’ browsing and usage activities and patterns in order to understand users’ interests and preferences with respect to our services and the Site.  We may also use Your Information in managing our everyday business needs.

Processing Web Forms:  We may use Personal Information to process forms on the site.

Processing Purchases:  Our third-party payment processor may collect credit card information and Personal Information when you purchase products or services or make any payments through the site.

Children Under the Age of 13

The site is not intended for children under 13 years of age.  We do not market to and do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from or about a child under the age of 13 without the consent of the child’s parent or legal guardian.  If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 years of age, we will promptly take all reasonable measures to delete such information from our systems.

Online Forms, Event & Program Registrations

In order to use certain features of this website, a user may need to complete the registration or contact form. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about the products/services in which you have expressed interest, or to answer any inquiries you have submitted.

Submission of forms via or sites we employ for billing, event registration, or other matters, expresses your consent to be contacted by BioOhio via the method(s) you provide. BioOhio occasionally sends newsletters, event announcements, or other programmatic content via email. You may opt-out/unsubscribe from these at any time.


This website contains links to other websites, including partners, members, vendors, industry news, events, etc. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

BioOhio Membership Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with your Membership purchase, you can choose to cancel your Membership and get a full refund within the first 7 days of your Membership period. Any membership-related savings program enrollments will be voided at that time.  Any pending event registrations, or other products sold at a “member rate,” will either be cancelled or adjusted to the non-member rate.
