On Wednesday, August 24, at TechColumbus, BioOhio will host an afternoon-evening event to connect Ohio’s expanding private equity community with its growing biomedical startup flock.

Beginning at 3pm and winding down by 6:30pm, BioOhio Capital Connections is specifically designed for biomedical and healthcare startups and entrepreneurs to connect with capital sources.

Every year, more sources of capital for bioscience commercialization and company growth establish operations in Ohio. Likewise, the pipeline of Ohio biomedical startup and spinout companies continues to flow (view press release with related stats and facts).

BioOhio wants to provide a venue for the growing ranks of investors and company leaders to connect, share ideas, and network. Fundraising and financing inquiries are among the most common and prevalent questions fielded by BioOhio staff.

The first 90 minutes will feature a panel of investors discussing trends and opportunities, as well as two seasoned biomedical entrepreneurs sharing lessons learned. The rest of the agenda is for networking and refreshments.

Please register to attend by emailing jgoldsberry@bioohio.com or calling Jen at 614/675-3686, x1004. Fee for BioOhio members is $10; non-member fee is $20. Space is limited; first consideration will be given to companies seeking funding and capital/investment firms.

The event is sponsored by Interplex Medical, an Ohio-based medical device engineering and contract manufacturing firm.
