Last week, BioOhio Leadership Member Cleveland Clinic held the Medical Innovation Summit, bringing together more than 2,250 of the brightest leaders from around the world to downtown Cleveland. Cleveland Clinic announced the Top 10 Medical Innovations of 2018 at a multi-media presentation that capped off the Summit. Innovations such as a Hybrid Closed-Loop Insulin Delivery System, Neuromodulation to Treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Gene Therapy for Inherited Retinal Diseases are just a few examples. With an upcoming ballot issue on prescription drugs in Ohio, BioOhio feels it is important to share information from the Ohioans Against the Deceptive Rx Ballot Issue.

On November 7, 2017, Ohioans will be asked to vote on Issue 2, a flawed statewide ballot issue. The deceptively named “Ohio Drug Price Relief Act” is bad for medical providers and patients and is bad for the state.

Join wound care professionals, care givers, researchers, students, and industry leaders as they come together in Akron on Thursday, November 2, for the 2017 Heal Ohio Conference, hosted by Ohio’s bioscience organization, BioOhio, in partnership with the University of Akron. The conference is devoted to informative learning sessions, distinctive keynote addresses, with activities that will provide an atmosphere rich in collaboration and networking for both career and research advancement.

BioOhio is hosting a breakfast workshop at AtriCure on November 15 in Mason. This event is part of BioOhio’s leadership series of breakfast workshops around the state in 2017. The goal is to highlight topics that will provide tools needed to advance into leadership positions.

In the upcoming session: Understand the Stress Connection and Strategies to Promote Leader Well-Being, the conversation will include strategies to be more present, focused and less overwhelmed at work. The session will be led by Diane Egbers, Owner, Leadership Excelleration.
