Diversity in Bioscience & Healthcare: Driving Equity in Organizations – Today and Beyond

Join BioOhio and the Columbus and Cincinnati chapters of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) for an online event on October 21 at 5:15 pm. The event will feature Jeanetta Darno, SPHR, UC Health System’s first Chief Diversity Officer. This will be BioOhio’s third Diversity in Bioscience & Healthcare event in 2020.
Jeanetta will be interviewed by Stephanie Henderson, Sr. Consultant and Assessment Practice Leader, Leader OnBoarding. Jeanetta will share her perspective on how organizations can facilitate diversity and address diversity issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. This candid discussion will cover topics such as:
- Equity, inclusion, and recognizing implicit biases
- Making space for different voices and perspectives
- Becoming an advocate of change and beneficial workforce initiatives
- and more as the conversation progresses
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, as well as participate in breakout room networking.

Jeanetta Darno SPHR, Chief Diversity Officer, UC Health System
Jeanetta brings more than 20 years of experience in leading diversity, inclusion, and human resources, most recently serving as vice president and global chief diversity and inclusion officer for Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Since 2000, she has also held director-level and above positions with Huntington National Bank, Nationwide Insurance, Cardinal Health, Stanley Works, and H-E-B Grocery Co.
A globally recognized thought leader and speaker on diversity and inclusion, Jeanetta has a proven track record in developing and implementing organizational change to drive diversity and talent management initiatives designed to support strategic business goals.
