STEM Girls Event

December 2, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Please join CincyIP Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00 – 11:30 AM or 12:30 – 2:00 PM at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County for a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) event for girls ages 7 to 14.

This event will teach young girls (ages 7 to 10 in the 10:00-11:30 AM class and ages 11 to 14 in the 12:30-2:00 PM class) how to design and protect inventions.

The girls will learn about industrial design and how to engineer a new product to solve everyday consumer problems. Then they will have the opportunity to create an invention, complete with a product name, a logo, and a short commercial! They will also learn the basics of intellectual property law (including patents, trademarks, and copyrights) and discuss how they could protect their new invention.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Ashley Earle at outreach@cincyip.org or ashley.earle@dinsmore.com, or Abbey Lopez at lopez.aa.1@pg.com.
