BioOhio’s last 2012 Regional Annual Conference on Nov. 14 in Columbus features a couple of firsts.
BioIT-World Editor-in-Chief and author Kevin Davies will make his first speaking appearance in Ohio. He will share his thoughts on the increasing importance of bioinformatics and big data on biomedical research and personalized medicine.
The Nov. 14 event also includes the first-ever BioOhio Emerging Technology Showcase, featuring 10 Ohio institutions presenting investment-ready IP to company representatives in attendance. Participating research institutions include Case Western Reserve University, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Miami University, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio University, OhioHealth, The Ohio State University, University Hospitals of Cleveland, University of Cincinnati, and Wright State University. The showcase is sponsored by Merck.
To be held at the Fawcett Center on Ohio State University’s campus, the event also features NorTech President & CEO and Forbes.com columnist Rebecca Bagley, who will discuss strengthening the link between university and industry research. Bagley’s talk will draw on her involvement as a member of the Ohio Board of Regents Technology Transfer & Commercialization Task Force. View the full agenda here.
Registration, including lunch, is only $55 for BioOhio members and $85 for non-members. Our sponsors have a lot to do with that.
A gourmet coffee and dessert networking reception follows the programming, and attendees have enough of the afternoon left to return to the office, visit a client, or finally get home for dinner. Pretty great huh? So don’t wait, register now.
