Once again, four Ohio children’s hospitals are ranked in the top 25 in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Children’s Hospitals” issue. And once again, that’s more than any other state.
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center receives top in-state honors by ranking third overall.
U.S. News didn’t publish rankings beyond the top 11, so BioOhio created a simple points based system for ranking the 76 hospitals included in the issue, based on their specialty rankings. For each of the 10 specialties, the top ranked (#1 of 50) was given 50 points, #2 was given 49, and so on down to the 50th ranked hospital which was given 1 point. Points for each hospital were then combined to create a ranked list of the 76 hospitals based on their positions in the 10 specialties.
